Textiles and Fashion as art is a new concept for many people, even a relatively new discovery in my life, but fabric, what people wear, and how they wear it has been an integral part of human culture from the very beginning. I have loved clothing and art for as long as I can remember, so hand crafting textiles, fashion design and fashion illustration came naturally as my career path, and my passion as an adult. Graduating from the Illinois Institute of art in 2007 from the Fashion Design program left me with great experiences and skills, but still full of questions, and things to explore through my art. It has been a wonderful journey of discovery, and I find myself wanting to learn how to do everything from making wire jewelry, to painting and using found objects as fine art, to cutting things apart and sewing them back together in different ways. I also love felting, designing and making original wearable art, and illustrating my designs. To me there is nothing like the thrill of seeing my creations come to life on a live model in a show. I eagerly await the rest of my life as an artist, meeting, learning from, and sharing my joy with other artists.
